My friend Jenny

My friend Jenny.
In the weekend I went to my friend’s house Jenny. Jenny is a nice  friend, she has a big brother and says kind things to my sister Hayley and me. Jenny says “Can I play please?.” Sometimes we play on the trampoline.

Sometimes on a Sunday her family will pick me and Hayley up and we go with her to the art studio. When I am in Jenny’s mum and dad's car I feel excited and happy because we go there to learn how to draw, paint and learn art stuff.

When we get to the studio we first get our tools ready. Second we draw a picture in our book. Then we draw it on a special type of fabric. And last we paint it onto the fabric.

Sometimes when me and Hayley go to Jenny’s house we draw picture’s there. I love doing art because you can draw or paint anything you like to imagine. I will imagine to draw a picture of the beach next time.

REFLECTION:
What I found tricky was? That I needed to put my beginning, middle and end in the right place.
One thing I got better with was?
What helped me to get better was? To first plan it in your book

Next time I would … describe more information in My Writing.

I am most proud of. . . adding more describing words

Q & A

In the first ever Olympics in London 1908, New Zealand was  joined with Australia to make a team called Australasia. Their uniform was white shorts, t-shirts and singlets with Australasia written on them and a hat. 1467165666382.jpg
The Designers of the NZ Olympic 2016 are uniforms  Shane Hansen, Danica Lo,Ralph Lauren, H&M, Lacoste.

Nastia Liukin remembers her first leotard like it was yesterday. "It was long-sleeved, and the sleeves were black. The body was a mixture of purple, pink, and blue, with geometric designs," the 2008 All-Around Olympic champion says, adding, "Let’s just say we’ve come a long way in the leotard design world.
When the Opening Ceremony uniforms were unveiled by USA Today, Ralph Lauren said that all parts of the uniform were made in the U.S., despite how complicated it was to make the uniforms for all 1,100 Olympics and Paralympics athletes. SPORTS RIO OLYMPICS.

Making olympic uniform

I made a olympic uniform in my class for the next 2024 olympic games for New zealand. And I made it for  Paora winitana because he plays basketball really good.
Why:
I wanted to make the Olympic uniform because I like to investigate Olympic uniform so I decided to make it for my PBL (Project Based Learning)

After researching about the olympic uniforms we started making a uniform. This is how to make a Olympic uniform for yourself

       What you need:
  • Pattern
  • Fabric
  • Needles
  • Thread
  • Vivid
  • Scissor

       How to make

  • First make a pattern which is on a piece of paper that shows your measurements
  • Next find a fabric then paste the pattern on top of the fabric.
  • Then you cut out the fabric with the pattern on top of the fabric.
  • Then sew it together

    Reflection:

I felt excited when it was time to sew because it's fun and Janice and I  learned it from the office lady when it was the Matariki day.
I use my Perseverance muscle when I was sewing my T-shirt . I did my personal best at doing my PBL.
When I was finished doing my PBL I felt proud and tired  after all that work I’ve done.

Calendar art

This is my calendar art

Reflection:

What was difficult.

The background was difficult.
because I blended the colours. It made my fingers tired.  Because I was smudging the background. I kept persevering.

What was good about it:
I am proud that i made the background look fantastic, by…….. Chahat gave me the idea to…..the blue, pink, purple and white for the sunset, she helped me       ……….little bit of the blending because I always mess the background up.

What does it represent:
The sunset and grass is an English symbol, the wavy things are the Chinese symbol and the spiral is the Maori symbol.

Report refltcion

Report Reflection for Mid Year

How have the learning muscles helped you with your learning in Maths and/or Literacy and in one other learning area for example Matariki, P.E, Art or Camp?

  • No bling
  • Options = Maths & Literacy plus one other listed
  • Maths or Literacy plus one other listed (e.g. maths and your choice; literacy and your choice)

Maths,Literacy & Matariki
The learning muscles that helped me was working together(collaboration). At maths time it always  make your brain muscle stretch to learn more stuff like the rich task because we have to do the perimeter, area and the volume and we had to use material so it is good for your brain. When it was Matriki time we had to stretch our brain to make our Matariki art.I did sewing so I can learn more about sewing. If I got stuck I would ask Chahat and if she got stuck she would ask me.

Explanation of tigers

                  ALL ABOUT  TIGERS:
A tiger is a native animal to India. A tiger is a animal that lives in the jungle but not just a jungle but different kind of jungle.
The fur is striped. If you look carefully you can see the stripes is like it’s painted but it’s not painted because the fur is black and light yellow. Tigers have stripes because when they are hunting they can hide to catch the meat. But some tigers have black or white fur.
The tiger's eyes glow in the night. When it’s night tigers also use their long thin whiskers to find animals and it is called science of small  Tigers have scary looking eyes and sharp teeth and claws. Also tigers don’t need light because they have FANTASTIC eyes to hunt.
Tigers like to eat Bengal tigers, Sloth, bear, Insects, Plants, Buffalo, Dhole, Sambar deer and a wild board.
Tiger has long sharp teeth.
The adult tigers like to live and hunt on their own.And tigers are also big cats.Big and little are different because big and little are not the same little are cute and big are scary.
Tiger cubs are so cute but if they grow up they will bite you and it will use it sharp claws to scratch you.So tigers   are is not good for a pet and do not keep it put it in the wild or the jungle.

Reflection:My reflection was having lots of ideas and
describing what, how, where and why tigers are like that.
